About The Open Journal
What is The Open Journal (TOJ)? TOJ is a set of tools for enhancing scientific communication. It includes a social network, a journal club and a peer-reviewed journal with automated editors and production. The TOJ Social Network lets every researcher gather their scientific achievements in one place, including education, professional affiliations, publications, and co-authorships. Establishing connections helps to keep in sync with interesting developments, such as contacts for publishing papers, commenting in a journal club, etc. |
The TOJ Journal Club helps to exchange opinions on any PubMed indexed paper. These opinions can be public or for a closed group of colleagues only, to preserve privacy when desired. To recommend reading to one or more colleagues is just a click of a button. Papers can be rated and opinions will be weighted by participants’ experience. The TOJ itself is peer-reviewed journal, where editors and production are automated. Authors fill forms on submission pages and upload figures, tables and supplements. The system automatically converts the submission to publication-quality PDF file. Once the manuscript is submitted, authors choose the most suitable referees. Only referees that pass automatic qualifications and conflict of interest checks are invited. All communication between authors and referees is direct. To provide credit and accountability, names of referees are attached to a published paper. The publication process is free for authors, and the access to the paper is free for readers. |
